My cube was working fine for a long time--love FFTJoy and Purple Rain while listening to music. About a month ago it went berserk with all of the LED's starting to flash different colors, some lit, others not. I have tried the following in an effort to troubleshoot but to this point, it seems like I may have a bad Particle board (photon)? Here's what I've done and discovered thus far:
- No issues setting up Wifi and internet access (claiming photon). Shows 'online' in Particle app. Can load different programs via Cubetube.
- Was able to load demo code but after I then loaded FFT joy it went crazy again
- Ran CubeDoctor successfully one time but since when I try to run (on Windows 10 system) I get a continual 'please insert the photon!' message. Not sure what's up with this...
- Cannot get photon into 'safe mode' -- followed instructions but it will only go to flashing yellow DF mode
I just unplugged my cube from my Windows 10 USB port, plugged it back in and loaded FFTJoy. Working fine for a bit but then the LED's suddenly go nuts (some in front partially lit, middle 4 rows flashing yellow, rear two half lit.
Photon is breathing cyan. In this "possessed" state I loaded Purple rain. I see the LED go to Magenta and then the LED's 'pause' - it then is still in the 'LED's gone wild' state. Again, LED is breathing cyan.
Any tips or ideas relative to next steps? Would very much appreciate input.
